Benelli TRK 552: Likely successor of the 502

The new Benelli TRK552 holds promise to step up the game with a slightly larger engine and upgraded hardware!

The Benelli 502 lured buyers with its immense value and towering physical stature. While it was great at convincing one’s head with its practicality and affordability, the top-heavy motorcycle with its lacklustre engine left the heart unsatiated.

Benelli looks to remediate this with the new TRK552. To state the obvious, a larger 549cc parallel-twin motor produces 61.8hp at 8500rpm and 55.6Nm at 5000rpm. This engine goes into the same frame as the TRK 502 with only a new aluminium swingarm replacing the older steel unit. The TRK 552 now stands tall on adjustable Marzocci upside-down forks and an adjustable monoshock at the rear.

An angular front beak with split LED headlamps and chunky handguards give the 552 a handsome front end. The TRK 552 retains the sheer presence of its predecessor while looking fresh simultaneously.

The TRK 552 also boasts of heated grips, a new TFT dash, USB charging ports and all LED lighting with dual J.Juan callipers replacing the Benelli-branded brakes on its predecessor.

While Benelli has rolled out the first lot of the TRK 552 in dealerships across China, we aren’t sure about when the TRK 552 will makes its debut in India. Unfortunately, the Indian and European spec bikes might be sold in a lower state of tune making 48hp to comply with the A2 driving license. We expect the price to go up no higher than ₹6.4 lakh (Ex-showroom) to retain its excellent value for money quotient.
