Honda’s designers seem to have replaced their British thinking hats and returned to updating their own line of motorcycles instead of resurrecting predecessors of the mountains. The 2024 Africa Twin is set to get a fresh look and engine updates such as improved valve timing and compression ratio.
A minor tweak to the front fairing, more power and torque at 101hp at 7500rpm and 112Nm earlier in the rev-range at 5500rpm are the changes the bike will see. While, the Africa Twin Adventure Sport will get a 19-inch front wheel and lower seat height to suit its road biased nature. Honda also claims to have worked on the ECU and DCT gearbox to elevate the experience. The current 1082.96cc engine produces 97.9hp at 7500rpm and 103Nm at 6000rpm.
The Honda Africa Twin will match up with the upcoming BMW R1300 GS, Harley Davidson Pan America and the Desert X from Ducati. The Africa Twin will continue to be sold through Honda’s premium BigWing dealerships along with a minor hike in price.
