The 450SR S has striking elements that come together quite well! Bull horn DRLs, functional winglets flow into a sharp pillion seat and a gorgeous single-sided swingarm. It must be said, the rear of the bike resembles the one on the Ducati Panigale V2, which is no bad thing.
A 449.5cc, parallel-twin with a 270 degree crank generates 46.3hp at 9250rpm and 39Nm at 7750rpm in the Chinese motorcycle. So far it is the closest rival to the Aprilia RS457 in terms of displacement and power, on paper at least.
The engine is cradled in an extravagantly named (Chro-Moly) steel frame and a multi-link single sided swingarm that weigh a feather-like, 11kgs. The CF Moto tips the scales with a kerb weight of 179kgs which is 4kgs heavier than its Italian rival.
Lower clip-ons and higher foot-pegs give the CF Moto aggressive ergonomics, which should result in a more committed riding position. What’s great is the 37mm separate-function USD forks, adjustable for compression and rebound damping.
The 450SR S offers a full-colour, curved TFT, traction control, twin LED lights, adjustable front suspension and smartphone connectivity. The CF Moto 450SR S is the latest addition to A2 license compliant segment. This space now has a plethora of options in the KTM RC390, Yamaha YZF-R3, Kawasaki Ninja 500 and the Aprilia RS457. It’s indeed an exciting time to be a motorcycle enthusiast.
